The Ashes: Blow to England, Archer and Wood ruled out of first Ashes Test

England‘s World Cup glory came to an unwanted end as they have lost their both pacers for the start of The Ashes. On Wednesday England confirmed Jofra Archer and Mark Wood are undergoing treatment for side strains.

Mark Wood’s injury is more serious than Archer’s as he has been diagnosed with a side injury that will make him unavailable for four to six weeks. While the new pace sensation, Jofra Archer has been allowed to visit family for a week in Barbados.

England are more positive on Archer’s injury and they would expect him to be fully fit for 2nd Ashes Test match at Lord’s which will start on August 14. The fast bowling pair is not likely to play together in The Ashes before the fourth Test match.
