Mitchell Starc breaks the record of most wickets in a World Cup

Mtichell Starc, the Australian pacer broke the reccord of most wickets in a World Cup. Fast bowler eclipsed his countryman Great Glenn McGrath who held the previous record. McGrath took 26 wickets in ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.

Starc was a wicket short of that record before the semi-final against England. He had Jonny Bairstow as his 27th victim of ICC World Cup 2019. It makes him the most successful bowler in a single World Cup.

Left arm pacer is also chasing another record in World Cup matches as he is one wicket short from fastest to 50 wickets in World Cup matches. Though he will have to wait till 2023 World Cup.
