ICC Cricket World Cup: Eoin Morgan hits record 17 sixes against Afghanistan
England captain Eoin Morgan hammered 17 massive sixes against Afghanistan. He broke the record for most sixes in a one-day international innings. Eoin Morgan hit one more than the previous record, which was jointly held by Rohit Sharma, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.
The previous record of most number of sixes in World Cup was also 16 sixes, that belonged to West Indies’s Chris Gayle, who struck those 16 sixes against Zimbabwe in the previous edition of mega event. England’s tally of 25 sixes hammered their own record for a team in an ODI – 24 against West Indies this year.
Rashid Khan also set an unwanted record of conceding most runs in an innings in the history of Cricket Word Cup with 0-110 in just nine overs. This is also the 2nd costliest in all One Day International Cricket. In World Cup the previous expensive spelll was bowled by West Indies Jason Holder against South Africa in 2015.
