Cricket World Cup: Mohammad Amir silences his critics with outstanding spell against Australia

Mohammad Amir took his career-best bowling figures of 5 for 30 against one of the strongest batting sides, Australia, in World Cup 2019, on Wednesday, at Taunton. Amir now has 10 wickets in the tournament and that makes him the leading wicket-taker of the tournament so far.

Amir was discarded from original 15-member squad for World Cup 2019. He was under serious criticism from all quarters but he has silenced his critics with three back-to-back brilliant performances in ongoing Cricket World Cup in England.

Mohammad Amir is the first Pakistani bowler who took 5 wickets in an innings against Australia in World Cup matches. His figures, 5-30 are currently best among all in the mega event. He was the one who brought back Pakistan as Australia lost 7 wickets for just 65 runs.

Pakistan will now face India on June 16 at Manchester, which is one of the biggest clashes of the tournament.
