Second Game: Babar, Imad shine as Karachi Kings beat Peshawar Zalmi

Karachi Kings’ Babar Azam was named Player of the Match.

Karachi Kings started off their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 journey with a bang as they have knocked down Peshawar Zalmi by 10-run at National Stadium of Karachi.. While chasing a huge total of 202-runs, Peshawar Zalmi, could not get a start hey would have hoped for when they lost Tom Banton early.

Zalmi were 2 down for 39 in their first five overs. Kamran Akmal rescued PZ with his quick 43 runs of just 26 balls. A partnership between Liam Livingstone and skipper Darren Sammy gave Kings a serious headache. The two added 62 runs for the fifth wicket.

Livingstone made an unbeaten 53 while Sammy managed to score 30 runs. Umaid Asif and Chris Jordan claimed two wickets for Kings.

Earlier, the former champions Peshawar Zalmi, after winning the toss, decided to field first in the second match of PSL 2020. Babar Azam looked in supreme form and scored his yet another PSL half century.

Babar was well aide by Kings’ captain Imad Wasim with a 30 ball fifty that helped the hosts to put more than 200 runs on the board. Hassan Ali once again proved very expensive on his return to cricket but still remained the most successful bowler for PZ in terms of wickets, got two wicekts and leaked 52 runs in four overs.
