The most successful batsman of Pakistan Super League 2020 struck his third century in the league.
Peshawar Zalmi’s Kamran Akmal smoked hundred against Quetta to give his team their first win in the season at National Stadium. Kamran came to open the batting while chasing a modest 149-run target. Tom Banton received another failure as he was got out for just 3 runs.
The wicketkeeper batsman, Akmal, has also hit the most sixes in the history of PSL so far. Akmal returned to the pavilion soon after completing his century. He had also added 82 runs off just 60 deliveries with Haider Ali – who scored 25 off 28.
Before Zalim’s innings, Jason Roy looked quite comfortable at the crease, although he could not accelerate when the Gladiators needed to put a massive total. Quetta’s batsmen struggled to get quick runs in death overs due to superb spell of Wahab Riaz. Riaz looked hard to hit away while bowling the last overs for Zalmi.
Roy remained unbeaten on 73 runs in 57 balls for QG in Karachi. Wahab took 2 wickets while Rahat Ali, Mohammad Amir Khan and Darren Sammy shared one wicket apiece. Peshawar’s Kamran Akmal was named Player of the Match.
