Northamptonshire re-sign Pakistan all-rounder Faheem Ashraf for 2020 season
Northamptonshire has re-signed Pakistani cricketer Faheem Ashraf. The all-rounder will return to Northamptonshire in 2020 after signing a deal for the first half of the season. Faheem will be available to play in all three formats of cricket for the Pakistan’s tour of England later in the summer next year.
The 25-years-old took 11 wickets in 11 matches when he played for Northamptonshire during this year’s Vitality Blast. Faheem Ashraf will be available for all the forms of cricket until the end of the T20 Blast group stages.
“I think he’s definitely a genuine allrounder, he’s a very good batsman and though we didn’t get to see him bat too many times in the T20 we know he’ll slot in well,” said club’s red-ball captain Adam Rossington.
David Ripley, Northants head coach said: “He’s a little bit different bowling wise to what we currently have, he’s got a little bit more pace, he’s a swing bowler and he’s got a batting average of 30.”
