Sri Lanka have announced a full-strength Test squad for December’s tour of Pakistan. The strong team will be led by Dimuth Karunaratne against the hosts where they are due to play two Test matches.
Former captains Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal have been named in a 16-men squad. Chandimal was part of the Sri Lankan team during the Test series against New Zealand but did not feature in any game. Bowler Kasun Rajitha is the only new inclusion in the side.
Meanwhile Pakistan is set to host for a Test match after a decade. The last time Pakistan hosted the same opponents for a Test match which was way back in March 2009. Sri Lanka cricket will leave for Pakistan on December 8
The first Test game set to get underway on December 11 in Rawalpindi while Karachi’ National Stadium will host the second Test from December 19-23. .
Although the islanders had visited Pakistan in October for three ODIs and three T20Is also but their major players including their captains of mentioned formats – Dimuth Karunaratne and Lasith Malinga – had decided not to tour with security concerns done so with highly rejigged squads.
