Jumanji: The Next Level has taken a roaring start at North America’s box office with super-strong $60 million debut. The film has exceeded all the expectations from the different circuits regarding its opening weekend’s numbers.
Sony’s Jumanji topped the box office charts with massive collections of first three days as the movie will soon enjoy the holiday season. With $60 million, The Next Level has become the 13th highest grossing December launch and largest ever for Sony.
Jumanji: The Next Level has eclipsed the opening weekend of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which had brought in $52 million Wed-Sun launch in 2017’s December.
Internationally, the Dwayne Johnson-Kevin Hard led film opened last weekend in some markets inculding China and in this weekend, the film added 34 more countries. The Sony’s film accumulated just over $152 million from overseas thus far.
The global grand total stands at $212 million. The film will see a stiff challange at the domestic box office from next Friday’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which is expected to take an earth-shattering opening.
