Jasprit Bumrah ruled out of Test series against South Africa
Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of Test matches against South Africa with a stress fracture. He has suffered a minor stress fracture in his lower back. The injury came to light during a routine radiological testing. The fast bowler will now undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Umesh Yadav has been added in the squad as Bumrah’s replacement for three-match series versus Proteas. This will be the second time Bumrah will miss Test matches due to an injury. A thumb injury, Earlier he has picked up a thumb injury during a T20I against Ireland in Malahide which made him unavailable for the first half of India’s visit to England last year.
The first Test match between India and South Africa will be played in Visakhapatnam on October 2.
