‘Downton Abbey’ tops the box office charts with record $31 Million Debut

‘Downton Abbey’ has delivered the record $31 million debut for Focus Features. The film has ruled over Ad Astra and Rambo: Last Blood at the box office charts. Ad Astra, the Brad Pitt starrer and Sylvester Stallone’s new Rambo have collected on expected level.

Downton Abbey has topped the weekend box office which is the best ever opening weekend for the studio. Before this film, Insidious Chapter 3 was the Force Features’ highest opener with $22.7 million. Film debuted in more 17 International markets last weekend and added another 15 this weekend for a total of 32. Downton Abbey brought in an estimated $10 million for the weekend and its overseas total currently stands at $31 million.
