Ashes 2019 News: Fast bowler James Anderson to have scan on calf
England’s all time leading wicket-taker James Anderson has handed his team an early injury worry for the Ashes as the fast bowler will have a scan on calf injury. He has tore his right calf muscle while playing for Lancashire against Durham on July 2. Anderson’s injury had ruled him out for Ireland Test last week.
England best bowler of all time felt tightness in the calf at the end of his fourth over at Edgbaston. He did take part at field for the rest of the first session but left the ground at lunch interval.
The news out of the England camp during the lunch break of first Ashes Test match revealed right arm fast bowler will go for scans. Anderson did not come out after the lunch break.
England have other pacers in the squad- Olly Stone, Sam Curran and Jofra Archer. Archer is expected to play the 2nd Test match which will start from August 14.
